Method comparison — what regional buyers still debate

Corridor crews ask LeeBoy for equipment packages, but the iron only works when the upstream method trade-offs are settled. Two disputes show up on nearly every export RFQ.

Crawler excavator vs. wheeled excavator on corridor support fleets

Support diggers for curb cuts, utility trenches and shoulder repair still split buyers. Crawler excavators deliver lower ground pressure (often in the 40–50 kPa class) and better stability for deep digs in soft subgrade — the safer default beside wet embankments. Wheeled excavators skip low-bed moves between urban overlays and cut day-rate logistics when crews jump three municipal streets in one shift. LeeBoy paving trains do not replace that choice; we size paver / grader packages after you declare which digger class will open the cut so plate-compactor lift plans match trench width and backfill windows.

Wet vs. dry mineral processing upstream of asphalt plants

When a region’s quarries feed your asphalt plant, wet flotation / washing circuits raise fine recovery and keep washed sand cleaner for wearing courses — at the cost of water infrastructure. Dry magnetic circuits win in arid MEA and Andean pits where water permits stall the schedule. The debate lands on LeeBoy mats as aggregate moisture and fines content: wet-washed feed needs different tack rates and screed heat maps than dusty dry-circuit stone. We ask which circuit feeds the plant before quoting paving width and compaction force packages.

Regional limits we disclose before the PO: high-altitude Andes packages need cooling derates above ~3,000 m; Sahara and Pilbara dust shortens filter intervals versus Midwest municipal overlays; monsoon SE Asia compresses paving windows so hopper feed reliability matters more than brochure paving width; mini graders are not sized for 200–350 t/h quarry-belt haul roads that demand full moldboard operating weight; electric screed heat needs stable genset power on corridors without grid tie-in.
